HIGH SCHOOL EDUCATION      The Curriculum and examinations are as prescribed by the Department of Education , Karnataka.                                                    The medium of instruction is English.     Study of the three languages as prescribed by the Department of Education is compulsory in these classes. Kannada/Hindi/Sanskrit is to be studied as first language. Kannada/Hindi is to be studied as third language.                       ABOUT   THE   CAMPUS ...     How about a life in a mini forest imn the heart of Mysuru city? Sounds weird right? Well it is true! SRKVS has a 69 acre which is as green as the valleys of Malenadu! Vidyashala in the beginning had a vast demand of food and wood resources. So to fulfil the needs a department by name "NATURE CARE" was started. The students then had planted around a thousand trees! Now after giving generation after generation of new plants, there are around two thousand five hundred  trees in this campus!      Now here are some more facts about the campus: Situated in Yadavagiri extension of Mysore. Two and half kilometers from the Railway station and three and half kilometers from the central bus stand. Sw Shabhavanandaji, Founder         It all started as one day Sw.Shambhavanandji was pondering over Sw.Vivekananda's thoughts on REAL EDUCATION... that is MAN MAKING EDUCATION! According to Sw.Vivekananda real education was that which would enable a man to lead a life as an awakened citizen. This is possible only when a man learns to maintain his body and brain in shape.   Swami Vivekananda had described it as a "total development of man which includes the physical, mental and spiritual."     Vidyashala began as a small hostel for students of various age groups called Ramakrishna Students Home. The students home was built in 1932; some of its residents, such as the critically acclaimed writers K.V. Puttappa, Javare Gowda and S.M.
